PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy policy
We collect as little as we can. No tracking ads, no cookie banners we don't need, no selling your data. Here's the full picture.
Last updated: 2026-05-15
The short version
- We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies or fingerprinting.
- If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email with our email provider for the purpose of sending you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe in one click at any time.
- We do not run third-party advertising tracking, and we do not sell your data to anyone.
- If you click an Amazon affiliate link, Amazon's privacy policy applies once you're on Amazon.
What we collect, in detail
Visitor analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages people read and roughly where they're coming from. Cloudflare's analytics product does not use client-side state (no cookies, no localStorage), does not fingerprint visitors, and does not track users across sites. Aggregated data we can see includes: page URL, referrer, country, device type, and browser.
Newsletter sign-ups
If you give us your email address through a newsletter form on the site, we store that email address with our email-service provider for the purpose of sending you our newsletter. We do not share your email with third parties, sell email lists, or use your email for unrelated marketing. You can unsubscribe via the one-click link at the bottom of any newsletter.
Comments and contact
If you email us through our contact page, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We do not currently host comments on the site.
What we don't collect
- We don't run third-party advertising or remarketing tags.
- We don't run social-media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, X/Twitter, TikTok, etc.).
- We don't run heat-mapping or session-recording tools.
- We don't share or sell your data with anyone other than the service providers required to deliver the email or analytics described above.
Cookies
The core site does not set tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set short-lived operational cookies (e.g., a security cookie if it suspects bot activity) at the network edge; these are not used for tracking. If you sign up for the newsletter, our email provider may set its own cookies on its own domain — that's covered by their privacy policy, not ours.
Affiliate-link redirects
When you click an Amazon (or other affiliate) link from our site to a third-party retailer, that retailer learns that you came from us, and their privacy policy governs everything that happens on their domain. We do not pass any personal information about you to the affiliate network — only the click itself.
Children's privacy
The site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through the site, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you (basically: your email, if you've subscribed)
- delete your information from our newsletter list (also achievable in one click via the unsubscribe link)
- correct any information you've shared with us
Email our contact address for any of the above. If you live in California, the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction with consumer-privacy law, you may have additional rights under those laws — same address, same response.
Service providers we use
- Cloudflare — site hosting, DNS, edge security, and privacy-friendly analytics.
- Our newsletter provider — email delivery for newsletter subscribers (named on the contact page once selected).
- Amazon Associates — affiliate-link tracking when you click through to Amazon.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices change. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be flagged in the newsletter or on a banner at the top of the site for at least 30 days.
